Eau Claire's North River Fronts Neighborhood borders both the Eau Claire and Chippewa Rivers. Walter's Beer operated in this neighborhood when it was in operation, and the mansions of the owners still stand.
The North River Fronts Neighborhood is improving markedly with the creation of Eau Claire's new Phoenix Park and the North Barstow redevelopment plan. An area that just several years ago was empty industrial land is now home to the corporate headquarters of Royal Credit Union, in a brand new multistory office building at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire rivers. Phoenix Park surrounds the building with landscaping, an amphitheater along the river, and a large pavilion where the farmers market is held saturdays during summer and fall.
