Eau Claire's Mt Washington Neighborhood
In 1856, Daniel Shaw & Company located a lumber mill and founded a town called "Shawtown." Shawtown was located about 2 miles downstream of what would become Eau Claire along the Chippewa River. In 1930, the city of Eau Claire annexed Shawtown, which is now called the Mt Washington Neighborhood.
The Mt Washington Neighborhood has its very own ski jump!
